What drives you to get out of bed in the morning? Coffee? An attendance sheet? A relationship? A religion? I want to find Athenians whose passion for their religious beliefs drives them to be better people.
I know I'm not Gary Smith. I know I'm not writing a feature (for the first two articles, anyway). I'm confident that there is sufficient fodder for such a topic in Athens.
Non-western religions like Buddhism and Hinduism would be most interesting because they have a significant world following, but few suburbanites turned OU dorm rats know people who practice them. Plus they're exotic and that's cool.
I'm thinking I'll attend some kind of religious meeting and cover it for the first deadline, interview a few people of different religious backgrounds and contrast them for the second, and design a feature story around the most interesting person I meet for the final component.
